Going Off Air

The Main Stage will be shutting down next weekend.  You have one week to start following our new blog.  Other wise you will be left in the cold without new music.

Moving.

We are moving here.

Oh. Hello.

Holy shit.  It has been MONTHS since I posted on this site, lost followers (big deal, who needs them anyway), and have a shit ton of messages sitting in my inbox.  I am thinking about starting over with this.  Going to go in a new direction, new layout and hopefully update more often.  Stay tuned.

Bird Will Bird Won’t: August Mixtape

I’ve been listening to a lot of ambient dreamy music lately and I actually put these tracks together accidentally in an On The Go playlist on my iPod. However I liked them so much together that I decided to make it the next mixtape!

Now there are only nine tracks on here but it’s about quality not quantity! So trust me when I say these tracks are so gorgeous you’ll listen to it on repeat.

  1. Look At Me (feat. M83) by Villeneuve
Electronic/Pop Group from France. I first heard this song being used in an amazing video that someone made on Vimeo. The original is good but this version featuring M83 is tops.
  2. Artificial Dreamer by Subscape
Favorite song by this English DJ. Awesome gorgeous dub.
  3. Sæglópur (Enigma Remix) by Sigur Rós
Most beautiful remix I’ve heard of this song. It’s hard to impress me because the original is so flawless but Enigma, another English DJ, definitely takes it a step higher.
  4. Running On by Villa Nah
Finnish electronic duo. This track is simple but beautiful. The vocals make it even more gorgeous.
  5. Are You Lost? by Rout
My friend’s side project hailing from St. Albans, England. Honestly my favorite track off his album, perfect electronica. I wish he had more songs like this on it!
  6. Luv Deluxe by Cinnamon Chasers
Yet another artist from England. If you haven’t seen the  music video for this song you must search it and watch. It’ll make you love this even more.
  7. Couches In Alleys by Styrofoam
Belgian glitch artist. An older track, but a favorite. Plus it features vocals by Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie, and in my eyes anything he does is awesome.
  8. Forever Lost by God Is An Astronaut
Post Rock band from Ireland. They write music that sounds like orchestrations.
  9. From Stardust To Sentience by High Places
Experimental duo from Los Angeles. Dreamy psychedelic pop.
